Travelling North on the A1
South of Tyneside take the left fork (A1M) which takes you past the Gateshead Metro Centre (the right fork, A194M would take you through the Tyne Tunnel). Approx. 15 miles north of Newcastle, take the A697. At this point you are 14 miles away. Approximately 2.5 miles after the village of Longhorsely, take the B6344 to Rothbury. Upon entering Rothbury you will pass The Queens Head Hotel on your right. Take the first left after The Queens Head Hotel - opposite Barclays Bank. Go over the bridge and turn immediately right. Go past the car park to the, "T" junction and turn RIGHT for 20 yards only. turn left, up the drive and your entrance is immediately to the left.
Travelling South on the A697
Approx. 6 miles after the village of Powburn turn right at the large signpost to Rothbury (B6341). This joins the B6344 just before the garage in Rothbury - Directions above.
Travelling from the West
Head towards Rothbury on the B6342. On entering Rothbury, pass The Coquetvale Hotel on your left, but instead of going over the bridge on right hand bend, go straight ahead to car park - Final directions as above.
The nearest main line railway station is at Newcastle (30 miles) and Alnmouth (15 miles, limited service). A bus service operates to and from Rothbury to Newcastle and Morpeth. There are taxi services based in Rothbury.
